This is delicious and a real winter warmer when boiled eggs on toast isn't going to cut the mustard.

Apple cider and cheddar cheese Fondue

Ingredients

  • 110g cheddar.
  • 5ml cornflour.
  • 60ml cider or apple juice.
  • 15ml lemon juice.
  • ½ml salt.
  • nutmeg to taste.
  • pepper to taste.

Directions

  1. Grate cheddar and mix well with cornflour.
  2. Heat apple liquid with lemon juice until simmering.
  3. Add cheese a handfull at a time, ensuring it is melted before adding more.
  4. Add herbs and seasoning and stir for 3 - 5 minutes until thickened.

Serve with diced bread for a tasty and substantial meal for 2!
