Home made stottie bread.

Ingredients.

Yeast mixture.

  • 2.5ml sugar.
  • 15 g fresh yeast or 7g sachet of dried yeast.
  • 2.5ml white pepper.
  • 45ml tepid water.

Rest of bread.

  • 175ml tepid water.
  • 5ml salt.
  • 400 g strong white flour.

Directions.

  1. Mix the sugar, pepper, and yeast in a jug with its water and leave for 15ml in a warm place, until it has become frothy.
  2. Put flour and salt in a big bowl and make a big well - when ready, pour in the frothy mix.
  3. Use a dough hook and need until glossy.
  4. Cover and prove for an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat an oven to 180°C on the bread setting.
