This is delicious and a real winter warmer when boiled eggs on toast isn't going to cut the mustard.
Apple cider and cheddar cheese Fondue
Ingredients
- 110g cheddar.
- 5ml cornflour.
- 60ml cider or apple juice.
- 15ml lemon juice.
- ½ml salt.
- nutmeg to taste.
- pepper to taste.
Directions
- Grate cheddar and mix well with cornflour.
- Heat apple liquid with lemon juice until simmering.
- Add cheese a handfull at a time, ensuring it is melted before adding more.
- Add herbs and seasoning and stir for 3 - 5 minutes until thickened.
Serve with diced bread for a tasty and substantial meal for 2!
