Pasta cheese bake
Ingredients
- 15ml butter.
- 130g spiral or other short pasta.
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped.
- 5ml English mustard powder.
- 22ml plain flour.
- 225ml whole milk.
- 125g vegetarian mature cheddar, grated.
- 25g parmesan (or vegetarian alternative), grated.
Directions
- Cook pasta for 2 minutes less than the pack says. If it's fresh pasta, don't bother cooking first.
- Preheat oven to 180°C for a fan assisted oven
- Melt butter and add garlic, mustard, and flour, finally add the milk to make a roux (typically 5 mins of cooking).
- Take off heat and add cheddar and half the parmesan.
- Stir in pasta and tip roux into dish for baking.
- Bake for 20mins at 180°C in fan assisted oven.
