Pasta cheese bake
Ingredients
- 15ml butter
- 130g spiral or other short pasta
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 5ml English mustard powder
- 22ml plain flour
- 225ml whole milk
- 125g vegetarian mature cheddar, grated
- 25g parmesan (or vegetarian alternative), grated
Directions
- Cook pasta for 2 minutes less than the pack says. If it's fresh pasta, don't bother cooking first.
- Preheat oven to 180°C for a fan assisted oven
- Melt butter and add garlic, mustard and flour to make a roux (typically 5 mins of cooking)
- Take off heat and add cheddar and half the parmesan.
- Stir in pasta and tip into dish for baking.
- Bake for 20mins at 180°C in fan assisted oven.
