Anyone with a fan oven has an air fryer. So make your fan oven work for you and buy a basket to cook your chips in! Make the most of a larger oven by cooking your chips with other vegetables or the main part of the meal!

Air fryer chips for two

Ingredients

  • 1 medium potato per person, ideally a Maris Piper or King Edwards.
  • 3.5ml oil per potato.

Directions

  1. Peel potatoes.
  2. Cut into 1cm thick strips.
  3. Soak for 30 minutes in cold water.
  4. Heat fan oven to 200°C.
  5. Dry potato chips using kitchen towel - the dryer they are the better.
  6. Toss in the oil.
  7. Arrange in a single layer in the basket.
  8. Pop into the oven for 30 minutes, ideally shaking every 10 minutes.

NB: if you need the oven to be cooler for other dishes, consider that at 180°C will need 40 minutes.

Serve as soon as they are ready.
