Anyone with a fan oven has an air fryer. So make your fan oven work for you and buy a basket to cook your chips in! Make the most of a larger oven by cooking your chips with other vegetables or the main part of the meal!
Air fryer chips for two
Ingredients
- 1 medium potato per person, ideally a Maris Piper or King Edwards.
- 3.5ml oil per potato.
Directions
- Peel potatoes.
- Cut into 1cm thick strips.
- Soak for 30 minutes in cold water.
- Heat fan oven to 200°C.
- Dry potato chips using kitchen towel - the dryer they are the better.
- Toss in the oil.
- Arrange in a single layer in the basket.
- Pop into the oven for 30 minutes, ideally shaking every 10 minutes.
NB: if you need the oven to be cooler for other dishes, consider that at 180°C will need 40 minutes.
Serve as soon as they are ready.
