Originally from the cook book from my first combination microwave oven - this recipe was so good I kept the whole book when the microwave finally went to silicon heaven.
A quick treat, can serve as a meal on a cold winter night.
Fruit crumble
Ingredients
- 3oz plain flour
- 1.5oz butter
- 1.5oz caster sugar - soft brown sugar is great for this
- A cooking apple
- 3-4oz blackberries
- 15-30ml tap water
Directions
- Crumb the flour, butter and sugar. A food mixer is great for this or do by hand
- Peel apple and remove core before dicing
- Line glass dish with apple and cover with the blackberries
- Add the water
- Pour on the crumble
Bake at 230°C with the microwave on simmer too for 12 minutes. Tastes great with a vanilla ice-cream, which allows it to be eaten from the oven.
