This I tried as an expirement because I wanted something home-cooked but quick with a low amount of washing up.  Spring onions mean they don't need any more cooking than the tomatoes.  It worked really well and was much more interesting than pesto!

= Tomato sauce for one cooked in microwave =
== Ingredients ==
* 50g dried pasta shapes - fussili is ideal.
* 227g tinned chopped tomatos.
* 3 spring onions, skinned and chopped.
* Smoked praprika to taste.
* 2.5ml fresh chopped basil.

== Directions ==
# Get pasta into boiling water and cook for 10 minutes.
# Empty tin of tomatoes into a microwave glass casserole dish (ideally that comes with a vented/ventable lid).
# Sprinkle in the spring onions.
# Stir well, put lid on pot.
# Microwave for 1min 20 seconds on medium (600W).
# Stir in the chopped basil, recover.
# Microwave for 20 seconds on high.
# Take 20-30ml of water from the boiling pasta and add to the sauce and allow to sit, covered.
# Drain pasta.

Ideally, served in a bowl.
